Watch: Evicshen “Fever Pitch”

Evicshen has a new video for her track “Fever Pitch” from the artists upcoming Hair Birth LP due out July 17th via American Dreams Records. As we reported earlier, this unique limited edition album comes complete with a handmade cover that doubles as a functioning speaker. With the video for “Fever Pitch,” noise musician and visual artist Victoria Shen reminds us how the aural experience of sound and the physical body come together in a sensual experience that reaches far beyond mere listening.

“Fever Pitch” was filmed using an infra-red camera and it explores the quotidian act of bathing. Using the camera to capture a visual experience not ordinarily recognized by the eye, American Dream Records’ Jordan Reyes explains that Shen portrays, “the mundane yet intimate act of bathing in an alien new light. This video makes visible what is felt but goes unseen, the dramatic clash of temperatures when water meets flesh.” Combined with the tracks howling asymmetric tones and throbbing rhythmic quality, “Fever Pitch” will wash over you with warm but exfoliating sounds.
